KIT’s vision is to transform the Europe’s energy system into an intelligent grid of the new generation: energy efficient, human-centered, eco-friendly, and where individual users have ability to become active players on the energy market. This will lay a foundation for European smart city and smart region projects.

To help DRIMPAC achieve these goals, KIT: analyses existing and emerging protocols, data models and standards in the demand response and building automation system domains; does research on artificial intelligence, VR, and semantic technologies to achieve end-to-end interoperability across all actors and IT systems; analyses data and information from pilot sites of DRIMPAC.
